Oswego college student named to fall deans' list at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Payton Mitchell of Oswego has been named to the Deans' List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year.

Mitchell, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the dean's list for the College of Engineering. A GPA of at least 3.5 is required to qualify.

SNHU announces summer 2024 dean's list

It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Summer 2024 Dean's List. The summer terms run from May to August.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

SNHU president’s list includes Oswego student

Anthony Chitwood of Oswego (60543) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's (SNHU) Summer 2024 President's List. The summer terms run from May to August.

Oswego native performs 'Christmas at Belmont: Live from Nashville' with Amazon Prime

Belmont University's Madelynn Miller, of Oswego, was among more than 600 student musicians and vocalists who performed in the beloved annual concert tradition, "Christmas at Belmont: Live from Nashville."

Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 11, this popular holiday spectacular streamed to a global audience on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and marked the first time the event was available on a global streaming service. A showcase of Belmont's musical talent through an array of traditional carols, classical masterworks and seasonal favorites, the event featured performances from Belmont alumni Ashley Cooke, Cody Fry and Dwan Hill.

Belmont University President Greg Jones noted, "This global showcase with Amazon Music is a testament to the extraordinary talent and dedication of our students and faculty. It's a moment of celebration for our entire community as we share the joy of music and the spirit of Christmas with people around the world. Student from Oswego was part of UW-Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band in 2024-25

Gianna German, from Oswego, IL, is among the student musicians part of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band for the 2024-25 academic year.

German, who is studying Marketing at UW-Whitewater, is part of the Color Guard section in the marching band.

The Warhawk Marching Band performs at all UW-Whitewater football regular season home games and other select campus and community events during the fall semester. UW-Whitewater hosts the annual Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Marching Band Championships every October.

A total of 1,465 students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater were recipients of scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year.

The following local students are among the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater scholarship recipients receiving financial awards for the 2024-25 academic year.

• Oswego — Jarek Slavin, who is studying Physical Education, won the following scholarship(s): Joseph Pease Scholarship, Clarence and Claudine Hammarlund Family Education Scholarship.

Student from Oswego earns degree from University of Maryland Global Campus

Garima Vinod Arora, of Oswego, earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus in summer 2024.

Arora was one of more than 3,200 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the summer 2024 term.

Belmont University announces fall 2024 dean's list honorees

Belmont University recently released the Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Approximately 53% of the University's 7,175 undergraduate students qualified for the fall 2024 Dean's List.

"Earning a place on the Dean's List is an accomplishment that reflects the dedication, talent and resilience of our students who maintain competitive GPAs while concurrently making lasting contributions at Belmont and beyond," said Belmont University Provost Dr. David Gregory.
