Coronavirus Cases In Kendall Co. Nearing 1,100: Health Officials

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The total number of coronavirus cases in Kendall County have now reached 1,099, according to public health data. The Kendall County Health Department said in a release Saturday that there are 785 in recovery.
The total number of deaths is 23, with the most recent one reported June 26, of a male in his 30s who suffered from additional health complexities, county health officials said.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health website, among the three long-term care facilities in Kendall County, Symphony at the Tillers of Oswego currently has the highest number of cases at 48 and nine deaths.

County health officials said that even before COVID-19, restaurant employees were taught extensively about food safety.
Every full-service restaurant that prepares food in Kendall County is required to have a Certified Food Protection Manager on duty at all times. A CFPM is required to have taken an 8-hour state approved food manager’s course that focuses on food safety procedures and prevention of foodborne illness. The course participants then must pass an American National Standards Institute approved test in order to become certified.

All other food handlers in these establishments are required to obtain a Food Handler Card, which entails a 2-hour state approved course in basic food safety training. This training is offered online from a variety of providers.
Kendall County Health Department offers the CFPM course 3 times per year for local restaurant owners and their employees. Just another way Kendall County Health Department helps to ensure the safety of county residents.
