Douglas Road Sanitary Sewer Work Experiences Delays: Oswego Officials
The sanitary sewer line installation project requires Douglas Road to close between Woolley and Collins roads in Oswego.
OSWEGO, IL — It could be another week or more of road closures and delays surrounding the Douglas Road sanitary sewer project, village officials said Thursday.
The Fox Metro Water Reclamation District planned to begin installing a new sanitary sewer line Jan. 24 on the busy Oswego thoroughfare. Work was first postponed to Jan. 31 as a result of the weather, officials said Wednesday.
The project requires Douglas Road to close between Woolley and Collins roads.

In another update Thursday, staff said the contractor is expecting construction to possibly last more than a week "due to the scope of the project."
Village officials originally said that although the contractor didn't have an exact end date for the construction, it was expected to take a week, Patch reported.

Detour signs are posted to guide drivers, who "allow plenty of travel time." The intersection of Woolley Road and Collins Road will remain open as part of the detour, officials said.
