Driver Fatally Shot, Passenger Attacks Officers: Oswego Police
Police were told the driver shot herself before the passenger was able to gain control of the vehicle and drive it to an Oswego home.
OSWEGO, IL — A 25-year-old Oswego woman is dead after police say they received a report that she shot herself while driving on a highway early Saturday.
Just before 7 a.m., Oswego police responded to the 100 block of Presidential Boulevard to find a woman, identified as Annissa Ellen-Williams, on the ground outside the driver's side of a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Officers provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived, but Ellen-Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said officers were told Ellen-Williams had shot herself while driving and that the passenger, later identified as Alexia D. Telles, was able to gain control of the vehicle and drive it to their home in Oswego.
Police said they were not told the location of the highway, and the Illinois State Police are assisting with the investigation since it is unclear where the shooting occurred.

During the investigation on Saturday, police said Telles battered two officers while at the Oswego Police Department.
She is charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery against a peace officer and was taken to the Kendall County Jail to await a bond hearing. Telles remained in custody as of Sunday evening, according to jail records.
