Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Into Semi: Oswego Police

Route 30 was shut down between Route 34 and Wolf Road following the Thursday afternoon crash.

OSWEGO, IL — A driver was taken to Rush Copley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after police say they struck the trailer of a semi.

Police said the driver's Acura TL was heading west on Route 30 just before 4 p.m. when it hit the trailer of the eastbound semi and wound up in a ditch.

Due to the crash, debris from the semi-truck's trailer fell off and struck a third vehicle, a Jeep Patriot that was also heading east on Route 30.

No other injuries were reported. The driver of the Acura was cited for improper lane use.

Route 30 was shut down between Route 34 and Wolf Road for about an hour and 10 minutes, police said.
