Stolen Vehicle's Driver Dies In Head-On Crash In Oswego Township
The driver of the stolen car was killed, and a 50-year-old Shorewood man who was in the other vehicle was seriously hurt.
OSWEGO, IL — A 46-year-old man driving a stolen car died early Saturday in Oswego Township after reportedly fleeing from police, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said. Daniel L. Arroy, most recently of the 1000 block of Route 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-car crash after 3 a.m. Saturday.
At 3:02 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that had just been stolen from the 0-99 block of Gastville Street.
Shortly after the stolen vehicle report, an Oswego Police Department officer spotted the Pontiac and attempted a traffic stop as the vehicle pulled into a driveway in the 900 block of Harvey Road, near the intersection of Harvey and Route 30.

Arroy reportedly fled and the officer did not pursue the Pontiac, which was last seen traveling at a high rate of speed heading south on Harvey Road.
Officers soon located a head-on traffic crash involving two vehicles on Harvey Road.

Arroy, the driver of the stolen vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 50-year-old Shorewood man, was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
