“Moving On: Life in the Community” Free Parent Training Workshop Feb. 23 in Oswego
Do you have a post high school plan for your special needs son or daughter? The Kendall County NEXT STEPS team invites parents to a workshop addressing plans for students with disabilities when school services end at age 22. This free event will be held Feb. 23 from 9-11 a.m., at the Oswego Fire Barn, 3311 Woolley Road, Oswego.

NEXT STEPS’ goal is to educate families on the transitioning process and how the transition plan impacts a child’s education and future goals. NEXT STEPS is a group of volunteers comprised of school personnel, parents and disability related service providers working together to plan with and advocate for children and youth with disabilities. Its purpose is to educate families and professionals on disability related services and resources spanning from early childhood to adulthood.
Parents of students or young adults with disabilities of all ages are encouraged to attend this free informational program; residency in Kendall County is not required. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in an open discussion format and network with other parents.
