Supporters of the Oswegoland Park & Recreation Foundation, including board members, Friends of the Parks, youth groups, Scout troops and community members, will plant trees and prairie plants Saturday Oct. 15 at Prairie Point Park.
“’We’re creating a grove of trees surrounded by native prairie plants as a legacy for the community to enjoy, “ says Candice Hadley, chairperson of the Park Foundation. “ We had a great turn-out last time. Our plan is to add to the grove every year and further beautify one ofOswego’s largest parks for everyone to enjoy.”
Volunteers, including youth groups (age 10+) and anyone who enjoys our parks, are invited to don their gardening gloves and gather at the tent by the retention pond (near Plainfield Road and Templeton) starting at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 15 for two to three hours. To volunteer, contact Candice Hadley at 630-554-8989.

Local residents who want lead the charge to secure the beauty of our natural environment formed the Oswegoland Park & Recreation Foundation in 2004. The tax-exempt organization supports the goals of the Oswegoland Park District and offers residents options for tax-deductible cash and land donations “for a greener tomorrow.”
Projects have included partnering with the Conservation Foundation to preserve a key parcel of Reservation Woods and the ongoing commemorative brick paver program in Hudson Crossing Park. The brick paver order form is online and printable from the site or you can pick one up at any Park District location.
