Former Oswego Firefighter Put In For Fake Meetings, Unworked OT: Cops
Robert Carpenter, 54, faces charges of officials misconduct after police said he accepted more than $3,200 in pay for time he didn't work.

OSWEGO, IL — A former Oswego firefighter faces charges of official misconduct following a seven-month police investigation, officials announced on Tuesday.
Robert Carpenter, 54, turned himself into police on Tuesday after police said that between March and November of 2022, committed theft of more than $500 by turning in payroll amounts of more than $2,500 in payroll for meetings he said he attended. However, an Oswego police investigation determined that those meetings never existed.
Police officials said Carpenter also turned in $760 for overtime he said he worked when, police said, no overtime was worked, according to the results of the investigation.

A warrant was issued for Carpenter’s arrest by a Kendall County judge and Carpenter turned himself into police on Tuesday when he was booked and processed. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 27 on the two counts of official misconduct.
