This week features the shop Jems Inc. from Yorkville.

Jems Inc. specializes primarily in hand-stamped jewelry charms for keychains, necklaces, bracelets and more. There are hundreds of pre-chosen sayings that can be customized with names and initials, including, "Happiness is being a Mom," "When a child is born so is a grandfather," "Class of 2013," and "God gave me you."

Owner Shannon said in her profile that she got into hand-stamped jewelry after the birth of her second daughter when she was seeking "mommy jewelry."

"I loved the look of hand stamped jewelry and decided to give it a go. My husband was so encouraging and really wanted us to create a business out of this - and here we are today."

Shannon said she has a creative background, but that the jewelry is her new creative outlet. 

"I have grown in my craft, and continue to learn and grow everyday. I love coming up with new designs and absolutely blessed at how this has taken off."

Jems Inc. takes custom orders as well for jewelry designs and phrases. 

In addition to jewelry, the shop also sells colorful ruffle scarves.
