John M. "Mike" Faulkner, 70, Served in the Marine Corps

John M "Mike" Faulkner, age 70, of Oswego, IL formerly of Park Forest, IL died Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence.  He was born September 12, 1942 in Norfolk, VA the son of the late Harold G and Grace nee Shanks Faulkner.

Mike served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Marine Corps.  He was an State Farm insurance agent in Frankfort, IL for 41 years prior to his retirement.

Mike is survived by his wife Caryne nee Wickstrom, (whom he married on October 22, 1966 in Niles, MI.) a daughter Kimberly (Andy) Baggiore of Rockton, IL, two sons Kevin (Kimberly) Faulkner of Cottage Grove, WI, Brian (Katy) Faulkner of Geneva, IL; eight grandchildren; two sisters Barbara Guthrie of South Elgin, IL, Kathryn Daniels of Downers Grove, IL, a brother Peter (Suzanne) Faulkner of Delavan, IL also several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister Robin Mannesmith.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 10:00until a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 Douglas Road  Oswego, IL.

Immediately after the memorial service the military honors will be given by the Fox Valley Marines, USMC.   Cremation took place followed by burial will take place a Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to either the Oswego American Legion Post #675  or the American Cancer Society or Seasons Hospice.
