Kendall Co. Coronavirus Cases Surpass 1,100: Health Officials
As per data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, less than one percent of Kendall County's population have tested positive for COVID-19.
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The total number of coronavirus cases in Kendall County have now surpassed 1,100, according to public health data. The Kendall County Health Department said in a release Saturday that there are 1,170 cases and 823 in recovery.
The total number of deaths is 23, with the most recent one reported June 26, of a male in his 30s who suffered from additional health complexities, county health officials said.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health website, among the three long-term care facilities in Kendall County, Symphony at the Tillers of Oswego currently has the highest number of cases at 49 and nine deaths.

However, despite the emergence of new cases, as per data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, less than one percent of Kendall County's population have tested positive for the coronavirus and 0.017 percent have died because of it.
In a joint statement issued by the Kendall County Board and Health Department, officials said that with Illinois reopening, residents need to be careful and continue taking the following steps to quell the spread of COVID-19:

- Maintain social distance (6 feet or more) from others
- Wear face masks that cover your nose and mouth when in public and especially if unable to maintain 6 feet of distance from others
- Frequently wash your hands with soap and water
- Hand sanitizer, while certainly helpful, should not be a replacement for routine and proper hand washing
