Kendall Co. Coronavirus Cases Surpass 1,900; Positivity Increases

According to the Kendall County Health Department, there are 1,905 cases as of Thursday with 1,403 in recovery. Test positivity is at 6%.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The total number of coronavirus cases in Kendall County has surpassed 1,900. According to the Kendall County Health Department, there are 1,905 cases as of Thursday with 1,403 in recovery. Deaths from COVID-19 has remained at 26, public health data shows.

Test positivity in the county has once again increased to 6.5 percent after going down to 6 percent and holding steady for two weeks as of Sept. 4. The total number of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the county is still at a warning level. There are 58 new cases as of Friday and the target is 50 or lower. This number has decreased from 69 last week.

Cases in Oswego account for 25 percent of the total cases in the county, followed by Plano and Oswego Township at 13 percent. Women account for 53 percent of COVID-19 cases in the county, while men account for 47 percent.

The highest number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Kendall County can be found among people between the age of 20-29, followed by those in the 40-49 age range, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Eighty-four percent of all cases in Kendall County do not have any additional health complexities associated with them, according to county health data.
