Kendall Co. COVID-19: No New Deaths; Positivity Has Not Increased
As of Monday, there are 1,867 cases with 1,330 in recovery and 26 deaths in the county, according to health officials.
KENDALL COUNTY, IL — No new coronavirus deaths have been reported in over a week in Kendall County, according to public health data. This comes after Illinois' North Central region shows a promising decrease in its positivity rate over a 10-day period.
As of Monday, there are 1,867 cases with 1,330 in recovery and 26 deaths, the Kendall County Health Department said in a release. The last death — of a man in his 50s — was reported on Sept. 3. The weekly county test positivity rate held at 6 percent for the second consecutive week as of Friday.
The highest number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Kendall County can be found among people between the age of 20-29, followed by those in the 40-49 age range, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Women account for 52 percent of COVID-19 cases in the county, while men account for 48 percent.

Eighty-four percent of all cases in Kendall County do not have any additional health complexities associated with them, according to county health data.
The county is doing well in terms of other metrics as well as such as the availability of ICU beds and the number of hospital admissions due to COVID-19-like illnesses, as per the Illinois Department of Public Health website.

However, while certain numbers may be moving in the right direction, the total number of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the county is still at a warning level. There are 69 new cases as of Friday and the target is 50 or lower.
