Kendall Co. Reports New Coronavirus Death; Cases Near 2,300

As of Saturday, there are 27 deaths in the county and 2,293 COVID-19 positive cases with 1,818 in recovery, according to health officials.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reports a new coronavirus-related death in over a month as cases near 2,300. As of Saturday, there are 27 deaths in the county and 2,293 COVID-19 positive cases with 1,818 in recovery.

The Illinois Department of Public Health website reports that the county is at 5.8 percent positivity as of Friday. This has increased since Sept. 25 when it was at 5.6 percent, the lowest it had been in a month. However, it is lower than last week's 6.3 percent.

There are a total of 77 new cases per 100,000 people in the county and the target is 50. This number has decreased from 83 last week. The metric used for ICU bed availability is also showing positive signs and currently, 42.2 percent beds are available.

As per county health data, people between the ages of 20-40 are affected most by the virus and Oswego has the highest number of cases.
