Kendall Co. Sheriff's Office Hires Three Corrections Deputies

OSWEGO, IL — According to a release Thursday, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired three new deputies to fill vacancies in the Corrections Division. Phil Steffen, Todd Cass, and Chris Limberg were sworn in on June 11 by Sheriff Dwight Baird.

The three officers will be attending the five-week Basic Corrections Training Academy which will begin on July 27. Upon completion, the three deputies will be paired with an experienced field training officer for a rigorous 11-week field training program.

Steffen studied criminal justice at Joliet Junior College. He worked as a volunteer firefighter in Garden Homes before being hired by the Sheriff’s Office.

Cass studied criminal justice at Morton College. He worked as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Stickney, and a 911 dispatcher in Northlake prior to this.

Limberg served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps and studied business administration at Southern Illinois University.
