Kendall Sheriff Reveals Citations Issued In Memorial Day Campaign

In addition to the citations, deputies also made two arrests during the enforcement period, which lasted from May 16-27.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office issued 15 citations and made two arrests during its Memorial Day enforcement campaign, the department announced Thursday.

The sheriff's office joined state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to participate in a "Click It or Ticket" campaign from May 16-27.

  • 9 seat belt violations
  • 1 fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer
  • 1 illegal transportation of alcohol
  • 1 distracted driving
  • 1 operating a vehicle with suspended registration
  • 1 speeding
  • 1 tinted windows

Deputies also made one driving under the influence arrest and one for obstructing a peace officer.

"The Memorial Day enforcement campaign helped make Illinois roads safer by reminding drivers that seat belts save lives," Undersheriff Bobby Richardson said in a statement. "Our efforts were about protecting families and reinforcing the importance of buckling up—every trip, every time."
