Letter to the Editor: A Thank You in a Real Time of Need

I would like to give a huge shout out to Steve and his crew from SERVE PRO of Kendall County.

Last Friday night, at 8 p.m., my mother-in-law had a terrible back up of raw sewage in her beautifully finished basement. As you can imagine, it was a huge mess and a terrible smell.

This was the last thing we needed, you see, my father in law had passed away two nights before, and this disaster was more than she could handle. Thankfully we were there with her, and I called Steve. Within an hour, Steve had a crew of five out to her house in Aurora. At 9 on a Friday night.  

My mother in law was sleeping, so Steve called and dealt with her insurance, they told him to call back in the morning. He explained the sensitivity of the situation, and said he would not leave the house in that condition.

He insisted on talking to a supervisor. He called and talked to her agent to make sure things were done according to her insurance. Then he and his crew covered the floors, moved things from her storage room to her garage, sanitized any items that had been touched, ripped out the carpet in part of the basement and the stairs, cleaned and disinfected the floors, and then put up floor to ceiling plastic walls all around the affected area. They were out the door by 1:30am, and it smelled like lemons!

My mother in law was able to wake up in the morning knowing she did not have to deal with any of that mess. They left fans and dehumidifiers in the basement and the garage, and came back for three days in a row, to check on things drying. Steve called me twice the next day to see how she was was and how things were going.

A situation that seemed overwhelming to us was handled in such a professional and kind way, I just had to share! THANK YOU STEVE AND SERVE PRO! You guys are THE BEST!
