Letter to the Editor: Volunteers Made 50th Anniversary Ball Possible
Send your letter to the editor to steven.jack@patch.com

This year, a number of special events and activities have been planned to recognize the 50th anniversary of Community Unit School District 308. The most recent event, however, was both the most challenging and the most rewarding, as the district celebrated its anniversary and alumni at the April 2 Blue and White Ball.
In order for this grand gala to be successful, it took the time and talent of a number of dedicated volunteers. We were extremely lucky that 17 such individuals went above and beyond normal volunteer expectations and worked tremendously hard to make sure the 50th anniversary gala would be a memorable evening for everyone.
With tremendous gratitude we recognize the following individuals who are serving on the District 308 50th anniversary committee.

We would also like to thank Superintendent Dr. Dan O’Donnell for serving as our inspirational emcee for the evening and Oswego Police Chief Dwight Baird, State Representative Tom Cross, and Oswego Township Trustee Sid Simmons for nominating and introducing our distinguished alumi. Finally, we greatly appreciate all the businesses and individuals in the district who attended the event.
Everyone’s hard work and support provided your school district with an impressive community event worthy of a 50-year recognition.
