Lots of Running Planned This Weekend in Oswego
Take a look at events happening around town and plan your weekend.

If there were a weekend in Oswego to go running, this would be it.
On Saturday the running starts with the Blues on Barton 5k at 9 a.m. in the Churchill Club subdivision. All proceeds from the race go to benefit an Oswego girl with cerebral palsy and also to brain cancer research. Click here for more information.
Then on Sunday it’s the Park District’s annual “I Tried a Triathlon” that to the relief of many will not close down Route 71. You can read up on how to register and some inspiring stories in one of Oswego Patch’s local blogs. Volunteers are also needed!

Some other non-running related activities this weekend include:
- Limelight Theatre is performing “Once on this Island” from Wednesday, July 31 until Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. Check out the event for details.
- Craving something sweet? Mik's Bake Shop is hosting their Summer Fest this Saturday. Bake sale, bounce house, a sumo wrestling tournament (?!) are just some of the activities. Check out the event posting for more details.
- Are you a new teacher looking to spruce up your classroom? A garage sale in Oswego is selling a bunch of teacher-related supplies.
- Don’t forget that Saturday, Aug. 3 is National Watermelon Day. Where in town do you plan to get a watermelon (or something watermelon-flavored) to celebrate the day?
