Man Charged In 2018 Kendall County Burglaries
Frederick Spencer was linked to several burglaries and caught on video using stolen credit cards, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — Ten months after residential burglaries in Oswego and Bristol Township, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office announced an arrest in the case and said the same man is believed to be linked to several additional burglaries.
Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Galena Lane in Bristol Township for a reported burglary on Oct. 26, 2018. A second residential burglary was reported later the same day in the 100 block of Kevin Lane in Oswego.
The sheriff's office said an investigation revealed that the same suspected was linked to three additional burglaries, and a stolen credit card taken from one of the victims was used at local businesses. According to police, Frederick E. Spencer, 39, of the 300 block of South Front Street, Aurora, was caught on video using the stolen card.

Spencer also faces new charges after authorities say he got into more trouble while in jail. On Friday, police said Spencer somehow got possession of a cellphone belonging to a civil contractor who was doing work at the jail.
An investigation determined Spencer had gotten ahold of the phone and returned it later in the day without the contractor's knowledge.
He now faces an additional charge of possession of contraband in a penal institution.
