Man Steals Package From Homeowner After Asking To Photograph It: OPD

Police are urging locals to "be extra cautious when receiving and retrieving package deliveries" in light of the recent theft.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are urging locals to be cautious about package deliveries after a homeowner reported a man stealing a package after asking to photograph it, officials said.

Oswego police received a report at 4:30 p.m. Monday of an incident of package theft near Chapin Way and Townsend Drive. After a resident received a package from FedEx, officials said a man knocked on the door, said they needed to take a picture of the package and proceeded to run off with the box.

The man was wearing all white and was last seen driving a dark-colored Jeep, according to a news release.

"Please be extra cautious when receiving and retrieving package deliveries," officials said.
