West Chicago police say a landscaper working near Route 59 and Hawthorne Thursday flagged them down when he found about 50 feet off the roadway the dark gray 2004 Buick sedan, which was heavily damaged.
The car was in a deep ravine, and the partially decomposed body was found next to it.
Police say their investigation shows the car probably drove off the roadway from northbound Route 59, north of Hawthorne Lane. They say the vehicle then struck several bushes, underbrush and trees, before coming to rest against a tree.
The car was registered to Jonsson.
The DuPage County Coroner’s office continues to investigate.
