New Patrol Deputies Fill Vacancies In Operations Division
Tyler Thomas and Steve Misch were sworn in on Monday by Sheriff Dwight Baird.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has hired two deputies to fill vacancies in the Operations Division. Tyler Thomas and Steve Misch were sworn in on Monday, June 23, 2025, by Sheriff Dwight Baird.
Deputies Thomas and Misch will complete an internal office acclimation training phase and will then be paired with experienced field training officers for the field training phase (FTO).

Deputy Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Arizona State University. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and worked for the Chicago Police Department for nearly five years. He most recently worked for the Minooka Police Department for one year before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Misch studied at Eastern Gateway Community College and worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections and the Will County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Division for five years. He most recently worked for the Minooka Police Department for four years before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
