New Taco Dale Cantina Opens: 'We Are Proud To Call Oswego Home'
The restaurant took over the downtown Oswego space formerly occupied by Tap House Grill.

OSWEGO, IL — Taco Dale Cantina is officially welcoming hungry patrons to its Oswego restaurant.
The Mexican eatery is located at 123 Washington St., the former home of Tap House Grill, which closed in February.
"We are proud to call Oswego home," spokesperson AJ D'Andrea told Patch in an email.

Taco Dale celebrated its grand opening Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with the Village of Oswego. The restaurant served food and drinks while a salsa band performed, and the space was at full capacity for most of the weekend, according to D'Andrea.
“It was a fun night with an amazing turnout, and we truly appreciate the excitement, patience, and feedback from everyone who joined us,” he told Patch on Tuesday. “As the newest spot in town, we’re thrilled to get such a warm welcome.”

The cantina, owned by Ilda Rodriguez, is "all about bringing people together," D'Andrea said. The team draws on its experience from operating six other locations in the Chicagoland area, including in Aurora, Bolingbrook and Lisle.
Taco Dale's extensive menu features the classics, including tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, birria and several platters. Breakfast is served all day, and breakfast tacos are also an option at dinnertime, according to the restaurant's online menu.
"We acknowledge that downtown Oswego already has many well-loved Mexican restaurants and we are proud to join such a strong food scene," D'Andrea said. "Our goal is to offer a different kind of experience with a cantina atmosphere and a menu that blends our authentic Mexican dishes with American classics, plus great music and a calendar full of events."
The restaurant is planning a series of holiday pop-ups, starting with one for Halloween.
"This will be a place to catch the game on a sports night, host a big party in our event room, or simply enjoy a casual night out with friends," D'Andrea said.
