UPDATE: Sheriff Releases Description of Suspect in Monday Stabbing

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the incident.

A 57-year-old woman was stabbed in the first block of Frontier Trail in unincorporated Oswego Township at about 10:35 a.m. Monday.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office was called to the home about an hour after the stabbing. Deputies were told by the victim that a tall, black man in his late 30s with short hair and wearing a black T-shirt came to her door trying to sell the woman something, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

The man stabbed the woman in the chest with a knife and pushed her down in the doorway of the home. The offender then left the scene on foot, the release said.

The woman was rushed to Rush-Copley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries by Oswego Fire Protection District personnel, Kendall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Craig French said. She was later released from the hospital, the release said.
