The officer was first on the scene and administered life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.
OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego police officer is being credited with helping to save the life of a 3-day-old infant who had stopped breathing. Oswego police said Officer Jordan Lombardi was first on the scene last week to a call reporting a newborn who was not responsive or breathing.
"Officer Lombardi immediately utilized his CPR training, checked the baby’s airway and began administering life-saving measures," police said Thursday. "Shortly thereafter the baby began breathing and opened its eyes. Paramedics arrived seconds later, took control and the baby was transported for further evaluation and treatment."
Police said Lombardi's quick actions likely saved the baby's life.
