Oswego Man Found With Child Sexual Abuse Videos Charged By IL AG

The attorney general's office conducted a search of the 21-year-old man's Oswego residence and found evidence of the videos, officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man, 21, found in possession of child sexual abuse material was taken into custody as part of the Illinois attorney general's ongoing work to apprehend offenders who download and trade online, officials said.

McKade J. Murphy, of the 600 block of Springbrook Trail North, was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, felonies punishable by up to seven years in prison, according to a news release from the attorney general.

The Oswego Police Department assisted the Department of Homeland Security and the Illinois Attorney General's Office Sept. 4 in searching the man's Oswego residence and discovering evidence of child sexual abuse videos, the attorney general's office said.

"Individuals who trade or download child pornography contribute to the abuse and exploitation of minors and must be held accountable," Attorney General Kwame Raoul said in a statement. "I would like to thank the assistance of our local, state and federal partners in this case. I will continue to collaborate with all levels of law enforcement to protect children and ensure justice for survivors."

Murphy is detained at the Kendall County jail, with his next court date set for Sept. 25. Raoul's office is prosecuting the case with the help of the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office.
