Oswego Man Charged With Child Porn After Reporting Computer Stolen

An Oswego man who reported his computer stolen has been charged with possession of child pornography.

David J. Brazeau, 59, of the 600 block of Highview Court, reported his computer was stolen June 25 from inside his car, which was parked in front of his home, according to . Later that day, someone turned into police a duffle bag containing a computer, media storage devices and printed images of suspected child pornography.

Oswego police then obtained a search warrant, and a forensic search of the computer was completed with the assistance of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. According to police, the search turned up several hundred images of child pornography and revealed Brazeau was the computer’s owner.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office has authorized charges including three counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.

An arrest warrant was issued Saturday for Brazeau. He was taken into custody and released after posting $50,000 bond.

Acccording to police, Brazeau is cooperating with their investigation and more computer equipment has been taken from the home.
