Oswego Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Joliet Crash: Police

The man, 54, was ejected from the motorcycle when he crashed into the driver's door of a car on North Larkin Avenue in Joliet, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a Friday morning crash in Joliet, according to police.

The crash happened at 7:57 a.m. in the area of Joliet West High School and St. Joe's hospital.

A 38-year-old Joliet man was driving a Nissan Sentra in the left lane on southbound North Larkin Avenue, approaching Taylor Street, when the car changed into the center left turn lane, intending to turn left onto eastbound Taylor Street.

At that time, a Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle, driven by a 54-year-old Oswego man, was southbound on North Larkin Avenue, already in the center left turn lane. Joliet police determined the Harley-Davidson struck the driver's side of the Nissan when the Nissan got into the turn lane.

The collision ejected the motorcyclist from the bike, according to police.

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
