Oswego Patch's Person of the Year: Pat Gavros

Our own first lady of patriotism received nearly every nomination.

It perhaps will come as a surprise to few that Pat Gavros has been chosen as Oswego Patch's Person of the Year.

Of the 40 or so nominations I received, she was named in all but five of them. That's not to say that what she's done is any more worthy than the accomplishments of the half dozen other folks who also were nominated. It just means she's had a wider impact.

And I won't let those other folks go unnoticed, either. In the coming months I'll profile each of the other nominees and hopefully shed some light onto what they've done in our community, as well.

For now, though, take a look at this video interview I did with Pat earlier this week. If you've never met Pat, I hope this four minutes can give you some measure of insight into a woman who inspried so many in 2011.

Congratuations Pat! You are so deserving of this honor.
