Oswego Police Release Labor Day Campaign Results

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police released Thursday the results of their Labor Day traffic safety campaign.
Officers wrote 67 tickets and made one arrest for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

- 5 distracted driving
- 3 speeding
"Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we helped to make our roads safer and spread the word about the risks of not wearing a seat belt — 'It's Not a Game,'" Police spokesperson Cathy Nevara said in a statement.
Oswego police used phrases including "Click It or Ticket," "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," and "Drive High, Get a DUI" to promote the safety effort in collaboration with Illinois State Police and other local agencies.

The campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
