Oswego Police Reveal Citations Issued In Memorial Day Campaign

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department issued 70 citations during its Memorial Day enforcement campaign, officials announced Tuesday.
The police department joined state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to participate in a "Click It or Ticket" campaign from May 16-27.

- 56 seat belt violations
- 10 distracted driving
- 1 uninsured driver
- 1 speeding
- 2 other driving violations
Officers also made two arrests for suspended, revoked or no valid driver's licenses and apprehended one fugitive.
"Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make Illinois roads safer and spread the word that seat belts save lives," police spokesperson Cathy Nevara said in a statement.
