OSWEGO, IL — An employee of the Village of Oswego has tested positive for the coronavirus. According to a release, the village was notified Monday that the person worked in the public works facility as well as in various well sites, while having limited contact with the public prior to the test result.

The village is working to ensure that precautions are being taken to keep employees and the public safe, including notifying those who have been in contact with the individual. The facilities where the employee has been working were scheduled to be sanitized Monday night.

Since March, the village has been following state and local health officials’ guidance including increasing cleaning schedules for village facilities, screening employees and contractors, and requiring masks during interactions with the public and in common areas to protect staff and the public.
