Snow removal operations begin on main traffic routes and collector roads, followed by neighborhood streets. The village hires private contractors to plow cul-de-sacs.

Plow trucks typically start clearing snow after 2 inches of accumulation and while snow is still falling, but they could start sooner or later depending on the snowstorm to ensure enough staffing and breaks during lengthy blizzards and ice storms.
