Over $1,800 In Retail Stolen, DUI, Battery: Oswego Crime Reports

Oswego police and Kendall County Sheriff's Office crime reports for Dec. 4 to 9, 2018.

OSWEGO, IL —

Sunday, Dec. 9

Domestic battery

The Oswego Police Department said 36-year-old Corina Kay Mendoza, of Ogden Falls Blvd., was arrested for a reported domestic battery that was reported at 3:14 a.m. Sunday at the same address. Police said a 40-year-old female victim was injured in the incident, and Mendoza was arrested just before 3:40 a.m. She was charged with two counts of domestic battery and was detained at the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Her court date is set for January 8.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Retail theft

The Oswego Police Department said they're investigating a retail theft that took place on Nov. 21, but was reported on Dec. 8 at Kohl's, located at 2500 Route 34. Police said $339.99 in retail was stolen, according to the 26-year-old female from Aurora who made the complaint.

Domestic battery, drug possession

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Akintola Adegoke, 31, of Charlotte Lane, Oswego, was charged on Dec. 8 with possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of domestic battery and an in-state warrant charge.

Driving under the influence (OPD)

The Oswego Police Department said Miles A. Wayne, 61, of the 2200 block of Lakeside Drive, Aurora, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence (DUI) after he was arrested at 7:44 p.m., Dec. 8 at 540 Fifth Street. Police said a 73-year-old female from Oswego was the complainant and/or victim in the incident, but was not injured. Police said Wayne was detained at Oswego PD and his court date is set for Jan. 8.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Accident with injuries

Oswego police said they responded to 2848 Route 34 and Pearces Ford just before 11 a.m., Dec. 6 for an accident involving 74-year-old Richard C. Anderson, of Oswego, and Sarah L. Kruse, 51, of Oswego. Police said Anderson attempted to turn the sedan he was driving onto frontage road and didn't notice Kruse's SUV, and hit the woman's front bumper. Police said both vehicles were damaged and Anderson ended up in the hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Accident with injury

Oswego police said they investigated an accident involving Steven M. Weis, 62, of Lisbon, who was injured during the accident that took place on the early morning of Dec. 5 on Orchard Road north of Mill Road. Police said Weis was driving an SUV. He was not taken to the hospital.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Felony retail theft

Oswego police said Darias H. Ferguson, 25, of W. 126 Place, Chicago, and Keandre R. White, 21, of S, Wallace Street, Chicago, were both charged with felony retail theft for an incident that took place at 6:40 p.m., Dec. 4 at 2300 Route 34. Police said it was reported by a 25-year-old male from Oswego, and $1,851.76 in retail was stolen. Both men were arrested and taken to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Retail theft investigation

Oswego police said they're investigating a reported retail theft just after 8 p.m., Dec. 4 at 2948 Route 34. That's where a reported 89.99 in property was stolen, police said.
