With nothing planning in the way of a 9/11 tribute in Oswego, one local patriot moved into action.

Oswego Patch blogger knew she had to do something.
The 10th anniversary of 9/11 was just months away and her town had nothing planned. So, the woman who has dedicated this year to living a more patriotic life, decided she would build on the success of her and start the planning for one to commemorate the nearly 3,000 lives lost in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
To mark the 10th anniversary of one of American's darkest days she of shoes to be placed through the downtown as a marker for each life lost. She's also calling on 150 volunteers for the day and will host a ceremony in which the names of each of the dead are read aloud.
Gavros said her intent is "provide a place for our community to come together to grieve, heal and comfort one another. "
