Dozens of volunteers were up hours before dawn to put together village's 9/11 remembrance.
Oswego's 9/11 Empty Shoe Memorial got underway bright and early Sunday morning with dozens of volunteers waking up hours before dawn to line Washington Street from Route 71 to with nearly 3,000 pairs of shoes to commemorate each life lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

The reading of the names of those who perished that day will be read starting at 1 p.m. outside . The memorial in Hudson Crossing Park will close at 6 p.m. as will the empty shoe exhibit.
