Men Fired Shots From Car, Drove Erratically, Escaped: Police
Officers responding to a report of shots fired unsuccessfully attempted to stop the car. Police later found it, with no one inside.
OSWEGO, IL — Police are still searching for people who officers first saw driving erratically and firing shots into the air Tuesday afternoon.
The Aurora Police Department said an officer responded to the 200 block of Hill Avenue for reports of gunshots at around 12:30 p.m. after seeing a vehicle driving erratically and one of its occupants shooting out of the window with an automatic weapon.
Another officer responding to the call spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, police said, but the vehicle did not stop.

"Officers pursued the vehicle into the Village of Oswego where the vehicle jumped a median and the officer lost sight of it," police said. "Moments later, officers located the vehicle with no one inside at the intersection of Waterbury Circle and Ogden Falls Boulevard in the Ogden Falls neighborhood in Oswego."
Police said detectives were given video from a local homeowner that showed the suspects running from the area where the vehicle was left and a firearm located in the suspects' flight path. In addition to officers on the ground, police said they have used a police airplane, drone and K-9 units to search for the men.

Officers requested that Ogden Falls residents stay inside their homes because the suspects were involved in a shots fired incident, police said.
Officers also requested a lockdown of Oswego East High School throughout the search, and though school was not yet back from summer break, some sports activities were canceled for the evening.
