Report Of Armed Man Prompts Lockdown At Oswego Childcare Facility

Police ultimately determined the report was unfounded, but the facility was placed on lockdown for about 45 minutes.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police said a report of an armed man walking out of Pearce's Cemetery onto Pfund Court Wednesday afternoon turned out to be unfounded. According to police, officers responded to Pfund Court at around 4:20 p.m. for a report of a man with a weapon.

"Responding officers checked the immediate area and spoke with nearby residents and businesses and determined the incident to be unfounded," police said.

But as a precaution, a nearby childcare facility was put on lockdown for about 45 minutes, according to Oswego police. A KinderCare is located in the 100 block of Pfund Court.
