Snapshot: Lincoln Highway Mural Installed Downtown
Dedication ceremony set for Thursday.

The following information was provided by the village of Oswego.
Oswego's Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition mural was install Wednesday at 67 Main St. (.) The dedication ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday. Free and open to the public, please join us as we unveil this excellent addition to our Historic Downtown.
A remarkable story is told on this mural of the Boy Scouts of America simultaneously placing the Lincoln Highway concrete markers across the nation in 1928. With a well thought out plan, volunteer Scout troops installed the iconic markers from coast-to-coast all in one day. It is most appropriate to tell this story in Oswego, with their community being actively involved in Scouting for sixty years.
This will be only the second mural in the ILHC series to be produced with a vertical design, making a very striking statement. The mural’s color pallet echoes the patriotic feel of the story, with great care and attention taken to paint the distinct detail of each Boy Scout image.
