Louie Zivkovic, owner of Louie's Car Care in Oswego, caught an enormous King (or Chinook) Salmon while in Kodiak Alaska waters in early August. The photo shows the Yorkville resident holding his prize catch at Port Vita Lodge, Raspberry Island, near Kodiak Island.
This King Salmon was the largest ever caught by a fisherman at the Port Vita Lodge. It weighed 60 pounds, was 42 inches long, and measured 30 inches around its girth. It was caught on downriggers trolling for Coho (or Silver) Salmon with a fly lure. Congratulations to our local fisherman.
