Street Sweeper Swerves To Avoid Animal, Rolls Over: Oswego PD

The vehicle went into the grass and rolled over a ditch due to a narrow shoulder on Wolfs Crossing Road, officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — A street-sweeping truck rolled over into a ditch Monday morning after swerving to avoid an animal, Oswego police said.

The crash happened at 3:40 a.m. on westbound Wolfs Crossing Road, near Fifth Street. Due to the shallow shoulder, the vehicle went into the grass and rolled over into a ditch, according to police spokesperson Cathy Nevara.

The driver, of Chicago, refused medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The road was closed for about 2.5 hours following the crash.
