Susan Lynn McGhee, 63, Passed After a Courageous Battle with Cancer

Susan Lynn McGhee (Cooper), age 63 of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Born October 31, 1949 in Chicago, IL.  Beloved mother of Elizabeth Anne (Aaron) Schmidt of Oswego, IL and Ryan R. (Colleen) Cooper of Montgomery, IL.  Loving grandmother of Andrew James Schmidt.  Fond aunt of Todd (Stacey) McGhee and great-aunt of Molly and David McGhee.  Dearest cousin of Wanda and Stephanie Morrison. Proceeded in death by her parents:  David and Marguerite McGhee, brother:  Bobbye McGhee, and former spouse:  James R. Cooper.  

While raising her family in Illinois, Susan kept close family ties with her Morrison family in Tennessee.  Susan spent her first 20 working years for various doctors.  Later her passion turned to the hospitality industry and she spent 20 years as an event planner in the catering business.  

Susan loved traveling with her family to Mexico and Lake Geneva, WI.  She will be missed by her many friends and work acquaintances and especially her son and daughter.

Memorial Visitation:  Saturday, October 5, 2013 11:00-1:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL  60540.  Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Interment is private.
