Village Hall Now Open After Temporary Coronavirus-Induced Closure

The village hall had closed Friday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The facility was disinfected over the weekend.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Village Hall is now open after it was temporarily closed Friday because an employee tested positive for COVID-19. According to a release from the village, the facility has been disinfected and is open for regular operations starting Monday.

The village was notified on Thursday and the person — who works at the Village Hall — had limited interaction with the public prior to the symptoms and confirmation of illness.
The employee also followed all recommended health guidelines regarding face masks and social distancing.

The village said it worked with the Kendall County Health Department to ensure that precautions are being taken to keep employees and the public safe, including notifying those who have been in contact with the individual.

"Village staff continue to follow state and local health authorities' recommendations for testing and quarantining," the release said.

Since March, the Village has been following state and local health officials’ guidance including increasing cleaning schedules for Village facilities, screening employees and contractors, and requiring masks during interactions with the public and in common areas to protect staff and the public.
