127th & Ridgeland Shut Down for State Trooper Funeral
Drivers should find an alternative route as the processional for Trooper James Sauter, who was killed last week, moves through Palos.

The intersection of 127th and Ridgeland will be shut down temporarily for the funeral procession for an Illinois state trooper killed last week.
The funeral for James Sauter, who was in his squad car on Thursday when it was struck by a truck tractor semi-trailer on I-294, is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Moraine Valley Church, 6300 W. 127th St. in Palos Heights.
Visitation for Sauter was held Monday at the church.

Sauter, 28, had been with the Illinois State Police since 2008. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and family.
