2 Illinoisans Win $1 Million in Record-Setting Powerball Drawing

Winning local tickets sold in Glenview and Schaumburg. Winners for the $1.59 billion prize found in California, Tennessee, Florida.

Two lucky Illinoisans won $1 million prizes in the Powerball lottery, hitting all five numbers but missing the Powerball number. The winning tickets were purchased at Citgo Food Mart, 915 Greenwood Road in Glenview, and Newstand, 5 Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing were 8, 27, 34, 4, 19 and the Powerball was 10. Had they matched the Powerball number, too, they would have shared in a $1.59 billion jackpot.

And 37 people in Illinois matched four numbers and the Powerball, netting each a $50,000 prize, according to Powerball lottery officials. More than 2,300 ticket holders matched four of the six numbers or three of six, including the Powerball – for $100 in winnings. And 893,220 people won $4 or $7.
