Board Approves Fitness Center Deal

The fitness center will be saved from closure.

The Palos Health and Fitness Center will be saved from closure after an agreement between the village and St. George Corp., the parent of Palos Primary Care Center and the fitness center, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Members of the fitness center, located at 15300 S. West Ave., gave the board a standing ovation after trustees approved the transfer agreement. A large portion of those in attendance were members of the SavePHFC group, The Regional News reports.

“The fitness center is like family,” said Lois Foley, a SPHFC member, in the story. “I never thought I would be so faithful to a place like that,” Foley said.
