SUNDAY, MARCH 17

DUI Charges for Justice Driver

Michael W. Wnuk, 20, of the 7200 block of South Banks Street in Justice, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, driving with a suspended license, improper lane use and speeding, according to a report. Wnuk was stopped for speeding and improper lane use at about 6:34 a.m. near 12200 S. Harlem Ave. Police smelled an odor of alcohol and noticed the driver had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He failed field sobriety tests and, later, took a breath test. He is due in court on April 11.

Chicago Driver Faces DUI Charges

Derek Mallory, 46, of the 4000 block of West 115th Street in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, improper lane use and failing to dim headlights, according to a report. Mallory was stopped at about 3:11 a.m. near 6300 W. Route 83 for not dimming his headlights and improper lane use. Police found the driver was under the influence. He also took a breath test. He is due in court April 25.

Speeding, Improper Lane Use and DUI

Kelvin L. Johnson, 26, of the 2000 block of South 11th Avenue in Maywood, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and speeding, according to a report. Johnson was stopped at about 12:57 a.m. near 12400 S. Harlem Ave., for speeding and improper lane use. Police said Johnson failed field sobriety tests. He is due in court April 2.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13

Catalytic Converters Go Missing at Metra Lot

Catalytic converters were taken from vehicles parked in the Metra parking lot in the 11400 block of South Southwest Highway, according to reports. Both were removed between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
