Charges In Worth Shooting Pending DNA Analysis, 3 Or More In Custody

At least three or more suspects believed tied to Monday's shooting on South Depot Street are in custody, Worth police said in an update.

WORTH, IL — Worth police apprehended “multiple individuals” believed connected to Monday’s shooting on South Depot Street. Police say the shooting was “100 percent” targeted.

Around 3:50 p.m., officers answered a call of gunfire in a parking lot in the 10600 block of South Depot Street. Upon their arrival, officers found two vehicles, which had sustained gunshots, as well as a nearby shell casing.

Police told Patch on Monday evening that three males were apprehended in the vicinity of the shooting after a brief foot chase. Worth police officers canvassed the area where they found a gun, a steel safe and the two vehicles alleged to be involved.

Following an extensive investigation, Worth police and partner agencies identified and detained several suspects, in addition to finding other evidence, including a gun and shell casings at the shooting scene.
